Meet Dr. Alex Bunich

I am excited to be part of the Dilworth Eye team. I immigrated to the US at the age of eight from Kiev, USSR. My family settled in Charlotte, NC where I still reside and consider it my hometown. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Biology from North Carolina State University in Raleigh in 1996 and continued my education at Pennsylvania College of Optometry where I received my doctorate in 2000. I also represented the Piedmont Optometric Society serving as Vice President for two years. I specialize in primary eye care, pediatric eye care, treatment of eye infections, LASIK consultations/post-operative care, and prescription of eyeglasses and contacts. Eye services can be performed fluently in Russian and Spanish. I have been married for 11 years to my beautiful wife Maribel. We together have two lovely daughters, Isabella and Sophia. I am an avid cyclist, fly-fisherman, and sporting clays shooter.

The staff was so incredibly friendly and professional. They answered any and all questions I had without hesitation. They were very upfront about pricing and I never once got the sense they were out just to drive profit. Dr. Bunich was the absolute best mix of professional, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He was causal during the exam, talking freely and making me feel comfortable while filling me in on any specific details I was interested in related to my eye care. He offered me several options of contact lenses, letting me try different sets at different price ranges until I found the perfect fit. I cannot recommend this optometrist’s practice enough. Great doctor, kind staff, wonderful equipment, fair pricing, just the best you could ask for.

This was my first time going to Dillworth Eye Associates. I called to make an appointment, the front desk associate was able to look up my vision carrier. They already had my information ready when I went into the visit. I went in tight on cash, they were EXTREMELY transparent on what my insurance covered. Everyone was amazingly pleasant, they made me feel like I have been going there for years, they were willing to work with me for payment on my glasses, since I was transparent about my funds, but I was able to afford the cost after insurance. Dr. Alex Bunich was very personable, very quick and efficient. I will definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for an optometrist! Thank you so much for the pleasant visit! I’m super exited for new eyes (glasses) in 2 weeks!

I recently had a new patient exam and Dr Bunich is by far the best Optometrist I have ever been to. He was very thorough and answered all my questions regarding the health of my eyes. They are able to take images instead of the old fashioned dilation, which was amazing. Proper covid protocols in place and no wait time before the appointment. Great experience!

Absolutely the best ! The staff are professional and friendly and Dr. Bunich saw me for a issue I was having with a tearing eye on a day he was not scheduled for and just happened to in the office the morning I called and took my appointment !! He proscribed a antibiotic and proceeded to show me where I could find a coupon for the Rx that saved me almost $200! 5 Stars +++++ Great people ~ I won't trust my baby blues to anyone else.

Dr. Alex Bunich at Dilworth Eye Associates is AMAZING!!!!! He answered my emergency call on a Sunday afternoon and was at the office to see me within an hour!! I have never felt more comfortable and am so happy that Dr. Bunich was able to help me. Not only did Dr. Bunich treat my emergency, he helped me to understand the history of eye problems that I have had for years. This is the BEST eye doctor in Charlotte, hands down! I have had 2 other poor experiences at larger practices and needless to say Dr. Bunich has ended my search for an amazing eye doctor. I recommend this practice for both emergency and day to day care.
